I bought a Line Ouput Converter to connect the amp's RC Cables to the HU.  But i don't know what wires comming off the HU are the speaker output wires.

What colors are the left and right, positive and negative speaker output , antenna and ground wires?

it's a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT Ram Air

I believe this car should have a factory amp, your first issue will be locating that, or tap your wires off the rear speakers go stright to the leads at the speakers

for from speakers, white isnt right , it ususally goes, FL- white, FR - grey,,, but, you can easily find this out by connecting a 9v square battery, or a 1.5V 'AA' battery works too, connect it to a colored pair of wires and you will hear a 'pop' in the speaker that its conected to. antenna will be a plug that goes directly into the rear of the head unit by itself. to test ground use a multi meter or a DMM on the continuity setting to test for ground...

but for installing an amp to it go about like this...

ground - get a ground from around the amp (conect a wire to a bolt that goes through the body, or a seat bracket bolt works good too.)
power - run a cable from the battery
remote - run a wire from the switched power that turns the headunit on, if you cant find out wich wire that is then you COULD use a positive speaker wire.

i would'nt try the 9 volt battery trick on this car, it may have a factory amp!!!     and also the grey and white wires are normally found with green and purple but thats on an aftermarket deck not a factory!

Jeff's right...go straight to the actual rear speakers and you won't have to know wire colors.

ok here's what i did:

the line output converter is hooked up to the 6x9's in the rear.

the antenna wire is hooked up to the fuse box, to the fuse for the preinstalled amp. but the sub amp is always "on". i thought it would turn on and off with the radio.  but that doesn't seem to be the case.  what fuse should i use to get the amp to turn on and off with the radio?

and now there is a lot of distortion in the 6x9's when the bass hits...the amp isn't powering the 6x9's, just the subs. plz help me again how do i fix the distortion in the 6x9's?
