Was just reading through klappings post were and found that my calculations were wrong?

I did what it says to do, does this calculater not work right?

Just checked what would come out for 14"high,27" wide,12" deep and got less than 1 cube each?

If you don't think the calculator is right then open the regular calculator on your computer. Then take the internal dimensions of your enclosure. Then do this "LxHxW=X" then take "X/1728". Now you have the volume of your box.

Please don't start this crap again. I don't understand why this is so complex to understand.

I didn't specifically say that towards you, just this post in general.

Honestly, I don't use any of the calculators on the site, I just do the math. From what I have used, the resistance calcs are correct.

The calculators on this site assume that all the dimensions you enter are reduced by 2X the thickness you list.  So as long as you are building your enclosure with all mitre joints it works just fine.

The math you some of you were using in that long thread was just wrong.  You only took 3/4 inch off each dimension.  You should have taken off 1.5"

The calculator is right.  We should close this topic.

So if i wanna measure 30x12x12 w/ .75 mdf i would put in 1.50 for the thickness?

Thats not how the explanation above the calculater says to do it?

No, you'd put in .75. The calculator is 100% right. The math on that old thread was wrong.

So if i build a 12x12x12  box w/.75 wood the vol would be 0.66992?is that accurate?\

Please help, very confused!

Alright, internally the dimensions are (10.5x10.5x10.5). So when you multiply that you get 1157.625 cubic inches, after you convert that to cubic feet you get 0.66992. So this checks out.

Sometimes it is hard to picture it in your mind 3 dimensionally.
