I have a 2005 altima w/ bose, and it my 1st post here. I was referred to this site from nissanclub.com from one of the members here. Before I started my install yesterday, I had a jl 250/1 amp running a jl 12w3v2. It was hooked up to a line level converter from rear outputs on the bose amp. Well yesterday I installed a 2nd amp (soundstream vg400.2) and some new component speakers (mb-quart pce 216's) up front. I have the power running to the amp by using 4 guage power and ground wire running to a distributor block then 8 guage power and ground's to each amp. To get the signal for the amps, I used a line level converter tapped in to the speaker wire for the front left and front right speaker outputs from the bose amp. Then I ran RCA's to each amp. I ran new speaker wire from the new amp to the crossovers and then to the speakers.. Well, last night everything sounded great and was working perfect. I came out this morning and my sub was hardly putting out any bass. Then a SES light came on. I tried to pull the code, but it just gave me 5 long flashes. Also, my power door locks don't work from the window controls, but they do work from the key fob. Also, I can't roll down the passenger side window from the drivers side door, but can from the passenger door. Any wise advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well...I got the SES light to go off. The driver side window control was about 1mm not in all the way and so I pushed it in and all the controls work and everything. The bass even came back on for a little bit, and now it's gone again. I tried hooking up a test speaker to the amp, and didn't get much sound out of it...I don't know if the amp is gone or what. The power light on the amp is green, so I don't know what else it is. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I switched the speaker wire to the other outputs on the JL 250/1 and I got some bass back. I don't know if the LOC is going bad or if it's the amp, so I'm going to switch the RCA's on the LOC when I get home from work today to see if the bass goes away again. If it does, that will tell me that the LOC is going bad, correct? Also, I was told that if my LOC is going bad, it may be because I have it hooked up to the outputs from the bose amp and it may be receiving too much voltage, any thoughts on this?
