my dad has a 98 sebring, which is chrysler/mitsubishi, i had a fit kit, and wiring harness already wired up  i pulled from my neon i sold, same fact. plugs so i connect it and the deck is on and fine but no sound.  pluged the stock cd player back in and there is sound.

the wiring on the harness can't be faulty cause it worked fine in my neon.. this is probly somthing simple but i can figure it out, and its like 10 degrees outside so i get sick of trouble shooting after like 3min.

the stock mitsu cd player's screen went out  but it still works. i also found it wierd i couldnt "pop" the front speaker with a 9 volt..

i remember installing a cd player in my sisters 98 eclipse and the car is basicly the same inside/wires. it worked fine.

if it does have an amp, should i run the pioneer deck though it ? or by pass it? whats the best and or easiest way to by-pass?

if it has an amp it will be mounted underneath the rear deck and is not hard to rewire.

You just need to power the amp...Find the remote turn on in the factory harness and put remote power to it...
