Does anyone know what size the speaker wire of a 92 Accord is?  I think its 20 guage, but I'm not quite sure.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

It is definatly too small to be 16 guage.  Because I had a run in with some of the wires and some wiring needs to be replace posted_image

Doesn't matter what size the OEM wiring is. If you wish to install a larger guage, then do so. It will not harm the system at all if you replace it with larger guage wire. It will most likely make it better.

Jeff, the problem is that I dont want to have to worry about going through my door.  I want to be able to connect the wires from the headunit harness, to the wire that goes through the door.

In that case it doesn't matter   what guage wires you use. Most of the time you will get between 16 - 18 guage wires. Both will work fine for what you want.

Most of the time factory wiring (especially in hondas) is 18 gauge.  If you want to use a heavier gauge wire, It is not tough at all to run it through your factory boot, there should be plenty of space. Now Dodge vehicles are a different story...  Gotta hate the molex plug they use, especially when a customer demands new wire...

Acura uses that molex plug as well. Gotta love Ford though........tons of room with those 4 " diameter boots posted_image
