Subject: 4 pin molex connectors

I have two amps laying around that I want to put in my wife's car.  I want to keep the HU, so I need to use the hi-level speaker inputs.  They both use identical 4 pin Molex connectors for the inputs, but I no longer have the harnesses that came with the amps.  Does anyone know where I can pick these up from?  I looked in Mouser, RS and Parts Express, but they don't have that config.

TIA

Craig

You're probably going to have to go to the manufactor to get them.

What kind of amps are these have you though about using RCA Line converter to hook up the amp with RCA's?

One is an Infinity Basslink that requires two for non-fading use.  The other is an old US Acoustics amp.  Infinity got back to me and they want 11.55 a piece plus shipping, so I figure for $30 I should be able to find some 4 pin Molex's for cheap and make my own.  I probably will have to go the LOC route, but thought I'd save a few bucks by making my own.  Hell, I'm sure there are thousands of people on this forum that have them lying around from their existing amps because they used the low level inputs instead.  Can anybody help a brother out?  posted_image

Thanks,

go to a computer store and see if you can get an old power supply, and chop the plugs off of that....power supply dosen't even have to work.

If they are square molex, you won't find them on older (cheaper) power supplies, just buy some of these:

Hope that helps, if not, give us a pic for refrence...

Thanks Drewt, now we're thinking!  It's like the 2x2 you show on the link, not the 1x4.  I'm gonna go home tonight and check out one of my PC's power supplies.  Here's a pic:

Most newer motherboards use those types of connectors, however the power supplies generally only have one per. They sell small adapters that adapt a normal 4 slot straight connector to one of the molex 4 pin squares, you can probably get them online for a couple bucks each and splice modify them to fit your needs.

How much would you be willing to pay? I've got a pair that came with my Rockford amp that have never been used.

If you're still stuck on the idea of hacking up a power supply, the connector looks like those found on Pentium 4-ready units.

edit: just saw the link... oops :)
