Well, my fuse finally blew. It blew. Trust me. I wanted to order 2 Brahmas from adire. I have contacted every dealer from FL to California. No one cares about me. I offered to send payment immediately if i could get 2 12''s or 2 15''s. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS SINCE OCTOBER-NOVEMBER. So finally, i got a call back today saying, well, we'll get some in in 6-9 weeks. My butt. That is what they told me almost 5 months ago. So hell with them. Unless the mighty lord himself (Stephen Kephart) can pull strings and get me 2 12''s Brahmas to my house, screw them and adire all together. I've been a loyal customer over the years and the way i'm getting treated ain't worth it.

Hence, what is your opinions on the RL-P12 by Sound Splinter? Good? Bad? I need an SQL sub. I intend to upgrade from 2 12''s to 3 12''s or even 3 15''s to make up for it and to increase it. So gimme some info on them, and opinions of course.

You might look at some RE XXX subs. They are pretty similar to the Brahma except they have a little higher power handling and Xmax.

From what i've heard those subs get pretty loud. I can't remember how great they fair sq wise, but i must suggest you look into the products Ascendant Audio has to offer. If I were you, id go with a pair of Atlas 15's. They feature XBL^2 (adire) and are extremely efficient. Power handling is like 350rms I believe. The Avalanche would be the way to go if you've got the extra money..talk about gettin low lol. They're not as efficient as the Atlas' but they'll also make a Killer SQL setup with some power to throw at em.

I talked to a couple dealers and they said that 3 of these things would be louder and as clean or cleaner and more efficient than 2 of the Brahmas, XXX's, or W7's.

As far as Adire goes..try and cut them a little slack. The company is working hard day in and day out to produce their new lines of products. As a consumer, i see where you're coming from, but you just gotta think from a business perspective. I'm sure they're trying their best to ship things out A.S.A.P.

Try the RE XXX or maybe the Ascendent Audio Atlas. Both use the XBL^2 technology and are great SQL woofers.

audiobass, i get what your saying, but there is only so much a person can take. Any other input on Splinters?

i think you need to relax about hating on adire, they are a small company in the process of releasing a new line,it is understandable to be frustrated, but it doesn't sound like you've paid yet, so what wrong has been done to you. If you had paid and were getting run around, then that is a whole different issue.

but if you are set against them I've always liked the IDMAX as an SQL sub, and from what I've heard, the RE XXX is about the same driver as the brahma, but a little more SPL minded where as the Brahma goes for SQ. the eclipse titanium subs also sound very good. bear in mind the comparison between subs is really only as good as the install

Adire is going through "growing pains" by the sounds of it. Now if one is patient enought to wait it out, that's great, if not, there are a whole pile of really good speakers on the market today.

The beef i have with adire is i already put 1/2 down at my local adire dealers. Notice, that i said dealers (plural). So when you put so much money down on October 13, 04... and you are still Brahma-less on March 22, 05,you get annoyed. I have waited for my Brahmas long enough. If Adire wants to keep a loyal customer, they sure have a funky way of doing it. I'm not hating on them, i still love their products, but there is only so much one person can take like i said before. 6 months is enough. Over half a year people. Not one Brahma.

Still looking for Sound Splinter opinions...

I think the fact that you have been unable to get A brahma is kinda a testement to the demand of the driver. Obviously they are a damn god driver or they would have no problem keeping them in stock. And keep in mind that people shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars for a lamborgina and might wait a year plus for it, but will continue to wait because they know in the end that the product is that damn good and worth waiting for. As for splinter audio I havent even heard of this company before which generally is not a good thing, although a year ago I hadnt heard of Adire either :) so take it for what its worth but if you can post some links or some specs you wight be more successful in getting opinions.

Sounds like it's a problem between you and your dealer, not Adire.  They have no control over whether your local dealer takes your money early or not.  Brahma's have not been widely availabkle since at least November while Adire creates a whole new product line and new manufacturing line.  The only ones that have been available were from existing dealer stock.  That fact was announced here and also on the Adire forum.

Sorry if you're annoyed, dude, but it was your decision and no one else's to put out cash without walking away with a product.  Did you get your deposit back?

I'm getting my deposit back until i am guaranteed there are some available. If none are available in 2 weeks, forget it. I know i can wait and wait for them and be happy, but i'm sick of waiting. Imagine if i paid for that lambourghini up front and instead of them saying, "wait a year" I had to wait 3 years.... Sounds like what adires doing to me now. Don't forget, i got over $1700 in deposits amongst 5 dealers, including all 3 in Florida. Seriously, i'm getting my money back and i'm going to say screw it unless i'm guaranteed two.

Do you not understand, its not adire that has your money, its not adire that promised you a subwoofer in X amount of time. Its the dealers that you should have a problem with. If there was a way to order directly from adire and you had called them in November and they knew that they werent gonna have any subs for you I bet they wouldnt have taken your deposit. I can understand being pissed, I would be too, but put blame where it truly lies and not on a company that promised you nothing and owes you nothing. Now once again, hit us up with some links on this splinter audio stuff if you got any

So I tried that link and it didnt work for me. What exactly are you looking for. Are you looking for SPL or SQ, and dont tell me SQL cause its a bullsh*t term. If you dont believe me just tell me what the acronym stands forposted_image. There are plenty of subs on the market that you can use from plenty of different companies. Obviously the right driver for you is out there, we just need to find it. I also missed it or mabye you didnt say but what kinda power are you dealing with?

Uthink: Just curious. Why have you ruled out the RE XXX 18"? If I was looking for massive yet clean output that would be on my shortlist.

1 of those is about as efficient as three Brahma 12"s because of the increased cone area. 2 of those would be over 3db hotter than 4 Brahma 12"s. You know what that means right? The dual XXX 18" system could get just as loud with 1/2 the power.

Did ya ever think there are more important things in life than a non-stock system in your ride? Putting out $1700 dollars as a deposit (even spread out to 5 different dealers) is just asinine, sorry to say posted_image
Anyway, I have not heard of the company/brand you speak of, so I'm really no help to you at all. Maybe a different brand would suit you better, as others have previously suggested?

That is what stinger is for! Nice DYohn... (Nak and cadence comment)
Well the flippie with the power is of course i'm running a Cadence ZRS 9 (1000 W @ 2 ohms, 2000 W @ 1) THD @ <0.034 % at Rated Power.
Yes i want an SQL sub. Its not a crap term. Sound Splinter is supposed to be SQL. I want loud and clear. Extremely clear
i don't have to break any records for SPL, but i want it as loud as possible and as clear as possible. I ruled out all 18" woofers because i only have 16.75" total in height to allow for a box, the largest i can get is 15"'s. This is so i can still use my roll cover and cover all that stuff so no one sees from the outside.

God Bless Nakamichi

So use 15"s. If you want the most SPL out of available power you need to increase the efficiency of the system. 2 15" RE XXX drivers are still more efficient than 4 Brahma 12" drivers.

My question remains. Why 4 drivers?

I'm not getting RE. If i wanted RE i'd just wait for the Brahmas.

Do you realize that 3 drivers instead of 2 will only add less than 2 db?

The efficiency and T/S parameters on the 15" splinters isn't even out yet.  How can you consider them?

Rather than just randomly picking drivers why don't you sit down and figure out what your goal is?
