What are the best wiring accessories for car audio head unit installations?  I use butt connectors for the head unit installation and for the head unit speaker connections.  Is there a better way?  Sometimes the wires come loose.  Possibly from cheap butt connectors.  Where do car audio shops buy good quality wiring accessories?

We use solder and heat shrink.  If your going for a professionally quality install, its the only way to go!

well man...as JellyNutz said..* stifles a chuckle *....Solder and heat shrink..plus electrical tape is the best way to do it...

But yes, I am guilty of using butt connectors as well.  Hey, when it comes to my own ride..I'll take a few short cuts.

D#mn it!!!  I  didn't mean to hit post reply yet...forgot what I was doing..bloody phone calls!!

anyhow..

Get butt connectors that are Seamless!!!  Seamed butt connectors, you have to line up just right with your cripmers, otherwise, they won't hold for crap!

Second..Make sure you use a good pair of Crimpers...none of this all in one crap.  Klien, makes soem of the best...you can get them at Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards'....

Third..wrap the connection in electrical tape for a little added measure of safety...

but still...if you want the best..solder, heat shrink, and tape it!

I solder all my connections as well. No problems with it.  Good solid connection. Plus it looks alot neater.
