Hello,

I'm planning on getting a new pioneer headunit (DEH-8400) which comes with a steering wheel remote as standard.

I would like to know if it's possible to wire up the existing steering wheel remote in my car (a 2002 vauxhall corsa) to the pioneer headunit and what wiring I'd need to do to get this to work.

Cheers,
bugsy

alright.......

ummm...I'm too lazy to look up the Pioneer model, so I'll tell you what you to look for...

if the pioneer's remote is infared ( IR ) than yes you can do it.  but you'll have to get a kit to intergrate into the factory wirng etc, and you won't be using the pioneer remote.. I believe Periphiral makes a kit to do it..I know they make one for Harley's don't ask...

( on a side note..sorry I couldn't post the pics guys..the shop owner wanted it to stay property of his store only...think he was afraid, I'd do side jobs, since he didn't pay me crap..no wonder I quit! )

than you gotta hunt down the wires, fiugre out what does what, etc...that's where a good DMM comes into play.  Or if you know anyone at a chevy dealership.

So yes it can be done as long as the Pioneer headunit has an IR sensor.  which last time I checked they did, even with the steering wheel remote...all you gotta do is find the wires, tap into them, than program the interface kit to work with the pioneer H.U.

need more help, post...me or someone else will try to help...
