As many of you know I am building  a wedge type enclosure for three subs that will fit behind the rear seat of my truck.

Even though it will be one big box it will have three compartments.   I would like to run the wiring through the inside to one end of the box.  Could I do this by drilling a hole in the seperators and run wire through them then seal it with silicone?  The wire I an using is round (streetwires 12ga twisted pair with an additional plastic over the pair making it round).

Then to get the wire outside the box should I just use a terminal cup?  They seem so flimsy compared to the construction of the box, or are they small enough they don't affect the enclosure performance as far as flexing?

thanks guys

Drill hole and seal with silicone. In some cases it is a good idea to secure the wire to the inside of the box with a wire loop and a screw as well to keep the wire from being pulled on or out of the box.

I do the same thing, I secure the wires inside the box using loops and screws and to exit the box, I just drill as small of a hole as possable, run the wire through it and silicone the crap out of it. I have built 3 box's using the method and have yet to run into any problems.

Also, after the silicone has curred, I usually spray the inside of the box with a sound deadener spray or a rubberized undercoating spray for one to make sure that everything is airtight and two, to help keep reasonating tones inside the box to a minimum.
