i need an amp to run 400rms in a ported box. is kenwood ok. or something else cleaner but not real pricy

my subs are the kickers cvrs 400rms 800 max dual 2 ohm. it's in a ported box

Ive owned a few kenwoods, and there not that bad, but I would have choose orion if I had they choice at the time
How much is your budget? I know Ikesound https://www.ikesound.com/category-category_id/821 down here in south florida is a authorized internet retailer for Orion and they have some great deals on refurbed stuff

That might be the way to go for you

Kenwood makes pretty good amps, my friend has one and it puts out good power and he has never had a problem with it. That being said I think orion amps are of a higher caliber, especially the older ones if you can find them. skolds is right about ikesound.com having good deals on Orion, i saw a Orion that doesn 600W at 1 ohm for $155, its not a perfect match to your subs, but since the subs are in a ported box you dont need to put the entire rms into them. Also since its in a ported box make sure you either buy a amp with a subsonic filter, or buy one for the amp if it does not have one built in.

See A ported enclosure is more efficient than a sealed one, requiring less power to sound just as loud.
