I would like to put an in dash reciever in my 1975 Corvette.  However, according to Crutchfield, the only unit that would fit would be a Sanyo tape player that requires trimming the dash anyways.

So, are there any solutions to replacing the stock "Spark-o-matic" with a deck?  Its obviously possible, but I'm just not sure how much work/trouble I'd be getting myself into with making mounting brackets, trimming the dash panel, and/or fiberglassing.

I would also like to keep this relatively inexpensive.

Thanks for your help.

There is a company called Custom Autosound that modifies old Kenwood shaft decks to perfectly fit classic cars. Get the model KNW-801, it has high power, RCA outputs and changer controls. Stay away from there house brand "USA" stuff. www.custom-autosound.com.
