Is it true that 12w7's can handle up to 3000 watts like some ebay sellers advertise, would that be RMS or peak?
If yes, would that be in a ported or sealed enclosure? and how many DB's?
When would you recommend switching stock battery to optima?
and when would you add an extra battery just for the audio equipment?

RMS for a W7 12 is 750. I wouldn't put 3000 to unless competing and if I was competing I wouldn't have a W7. I have mine in a sloted port enclosure and it rocks. I never recommend Optima batterys as they are just overpriced dry cell batterys. Most people here will tell you need a high output alternator before ever thinking about a second battery, everyone else doesn't know what they are talking about.

JLs max RMS rating is 1500 watts. Burn a coil above that and kiss your warranty goodbye.

get a high output alternator and upgrade the big 3+ a optima battery before adding more batterys.
