I've been doing my research and have decided to go with the   Brahma for a good SQL setup. I plan on pushing the sub with a clean 500-600w RMS the amp I am still undecided on but im leaning twords either a JL Audio 500/1 or a Zapco Referance series. My question is what is a ideal sealed enclosure size for optimal sound quality in the brahma series? also does a 10 inch sub require less box size than the 12 inch offerings? is there much difference between the 10 and 12? thank's ahead

If you can get a Brahma...

I mean.. a 12 has more radiating area and usually play a bit lower than 10's... that is to say, louder and lower. If you're going with a single woofer setup, I couldn't imagine being satisfied with a single 10"...

If you really going to spend Brahma kinds of cash, download WinISD and model the woofers' with the T/S parameters and look at the woofers response, particularly below about 40 hz... u'll find the 10 drops off quicker than the 12.. and in terms of absolute volume, is about 2-3 dB quieter at the same power level.

You'd want to model the woofer before building a box anyway eh?

Yes, typically, a 10 requires about 1/4 - 1/3 cft less airspace than a 12" brethern.

Either amp would be outstanding choices.

For my personal uses, the Brahma 10 is enough for me.  However it really is a purpose built sub, working well for people who need to use tiny enclosures.  You get 40% more cone area with the 12, so it might be a better choice.  We normally recommend around 1 cubic feet sealed for the Brahma 12.

"I don't really understand all that technical mumbo jumbo"

Okay, WinISD is ridiculously easy to use. Don't be intimidated, just put on your thinking cap. People that say "oh that looks hard, I'll ask someone smarter" will remain.. uhh.. stupid.

Now, open WinISD and your web-browser.
Go here.
https://www.adireaudio.com/Files/DUMAX/BrahmaDumax.pdf

Read over that pdf. Ya see those little specifications like "Qts" "Qes" "Bl" "Sd" ? That stuff are T/S parameters that determine how a subwoofer acts in a given enclosure.

Now open a new project in WinISD. Its under "File" ... select "own drivers" and plug in those numbers next to the corresponding parameters. WinISD does the rest.

Try reading the help file included with the program. It has a neato step by step as well. You can do this with every woofer you can get parameters for. It is actually kinda fun. Whenever you want to know how something will sound u can figure it out in a few minutes.

If this really scares you, turn off your computer now, and go to at Circuit City to buy the $80 MTX 12 and the prefab Q-Logic box okay?

Unfortunately they are not available yet.  However they will be available very soon.  And shortly after that we will have an updated dealers page that should help you.
