I am running 4ga wire from the front of the car to the rear.

My question is this:

Should I run the 4ga to the Cap, and then to the Distribution Block

OR

Run from the front to the Distro Block?

You will want the cap as close to your amp as possible.

I may be wrong, but when I did this myself I was told to run the power directly to the dist. block first and then to the cap from there.

it really won't matter unless your dist. block has diodes in it (it dosn't, don't worry). Heck, you can even use the cap as a distro block....

What do you have coming off of the distrobution block??  If your running a sub amp and then a smaller amp for your highs, I would suggest puting the cap right before your sub amp since it will need the most help.

All there is is one amp, a Kicker ZR120.  The Distro block is needed no matter what to step down from 4ga to 8ga (the amp accecpts 8ga).

get a pass through connector for the cap, runs to the cap, bolts on to it, then has two connections for the input and one to the amp... works great, looks clean, and then just get some extra 4 ga wire, run a second ground, to the same place as the first, and ur done, clean easy simple,,  it'd all cost you like 25 bucks at a best buy or somethin

well if you already have the distro, may as well use it.  so i would def. put the cap after it because you want it as close to the amp as possible, but really it doenst matter that much.  Alternitivly, simply running the 4 gauge to the cap and using a ring terminal to connect it and then using another ringterminal and 8 gauge to run to your amp could eliminate the bolck if you wanted to

I know I'm supposed to run teh cap as close as possible to the amp...before the fuse or after the fuse going to the amps since most high wattage amps don't have built in fuses...I've typically done it before the fuse holder for the amp..
