I just bought 2 Kx1200.1s that Im gonna push to 2 2004 2ohm dvc L7s (one amp to one sub) at
1200rms@1ohm to each sub... so theres 2400 watts rms..probably like 2800 peak. Im also getting and optima Yellowtop deep cycle battery in my trunk paralleled to the one in my hood, so the amplifiers can have enough volts..and I have a 12 farad capacitor also...I know its about 100 amps for every 1000 watts.. so I was thinkin about takin my stock 03 cavalier coupe alternator (I think its 60 amps, 'cause I dont have power door locks, window, etc) and having a "car stereo doctor" (thats the name of his stereo store) rewire my alternator to about 350 amps (he's supposedly rewired one for up to 900 amps)... if I rewired it to 350, what electrical problems would I be looking at?? and what would I need to do to fix it??? or even, what would happen if I were to leave it alone, or maybe even get a stock alternator, but one for all that electrical accessories like power seats and windows and door locks and all that other stuff??? what would be my best option???? -thanks
One, I have never heard of an alternator from the car stereo doctor. and I doubt he is buiding an alternator to produce 350-900 amps! thats just insane.
The only true alternators that will produce the power they say they will are Domonik Irragi, or ohio generators. These come with a high price tag though, but if you expect to get over 150 amp alternator and have it produce enough power at idle then this is one of the only ways to go.
I would look more into the Blue top line of optima, or kenetik instead of yellow top
