Hi

As a old Soundstream fan ! I have just bought a 705s amp to run my DLS Ultimate 36's  and 2 x JL 8w6's. I will bridge the front 4 chns to run the DLS's  with their passive crossovers and run the JL's (I will stick with these as I love them to !!)

Now according to a friends and the manual etc. The sub section has its own inputs marked "L + R". Which makes sense!. Mine is marked "Line out" L +R ??

Now that does not make sense !!

Anyone have any ideas??

The Reference 705s was an excellent amplifier from the good old days when Soundstream was one of the top amps.  These date from 1996-97.  The mono sub channel is rated at 400 watts and is 1/2 ohm stable (in "high current" mode) and low-noise rated at 200 watts into 4-ohms ("high power" mode.)  I don't think it has RCA pass-through outputs at all.  The fifth channel inputs should be marked "Mono Inputs."

Blowntweeters

Thats what I would have thought on another amp... But this map has a dedicated subwoofer section. Also a friends has his marked "Inputs" the manual etc confirms.

Yet mine is marked "line out"!!

have emailed Soundstream. Given them numbers etc.

Dyohn. Thats what I am thinking. I love the map. It can do so much. I beleive the power output is a little higher than quoted.

As they say.. "Time will tell"  (Well that is if they answer emails at Soundstream!!)

You have to use a pic up-load place (photo bucket or something like that, i don't think that you can just up-load from your hard drive.

london luke, you can upload the pic on this forum.  Read the guidelines in Rules and Guidelines........work the pic over in a photo editor, change the size as you read in the guidelines, change the file type to .jpg (not .JPG).   Image upload  posted_image will give you a chance to browse your hard drive.  Find the pic you have made to work here, select it and we will all see it.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

In case you don't have one, here's the owners manual for the Soundstream 705s amplifier.  If yours is different from what this shows than either it is not a 705s or it is incorrectly marked.  Cheers.
