Im sure it has been covered before, and you guys are sick of hearing it, but I cant seem to find it so Im going to ask it anyway. I have heard many people say yes and no, and I'm really not sure what to think anymore, so here it goes.
Does inverting a sub change the sound at all (not including change in box volume)????
Kenny
to answer your question simply. Yes it does effect sound. I will elaborate more when I have my KIT reference book at hand. around 11 on wensday EDIT: thats 11 AM

It might, it might not. If everything is planned and measured and no mistakes, probably might not. But if there are mistakes, it might. But I doubt it. So it could, maybe. Or couldn't, depending.
Is that clear?
Aww heck, just do it.
But seriously, (as if I wasn't already)....some tight install situations require such a setup, and there are some high end SQ vehicles out there that prove it sounds just fine that way.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
couldnt have said it better myself ![posted_image](https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/smileys/smiley14.gif)

well its not my setup. Someone on another forum im on brought it up, and I have always thought that an inverted sub isnt as loud (just going by what i've heard), but everyone else says that it doesnt affect it at all (except for volume, etc). So I came to you guys as the experts to have something to show them that there is a difference.
I never have, and I never will invert my subs... reguardless of if it affects sound or not.

I run all 8 of my 12's inverted. It looks cool and it sounds good to me. It slams pretty damn hard too. no problems.
