I have a 1 ohm stable amp.  If I wire two dvc subs to get a 1 ohm load at the amp I should be ok, right?

you want to wire all the coils in   parrellel.+ to + - to - on the subs, and the wires coming from the box going to the amp. what amp are you running ?

Assuming the coils are 4 ohm each and you wire all 4 coils in parallel you'll get a 1 ohm load at the amp.

If it's a mono (one channel) amp, yes.  You can put a 1 ohm load onto it.  But if it's a two-channel amp, the stability is per channel...so you could not bridge the 1 ohm load across two channels.  (It would have to be a 1/2 ohm stable amp to allow that.)

Unless you are working up a SPL competition car, you should think about running a higher load onto your amp.  You'll benefit with better sound and a longer amplifier life.
