I was reading about these today and they seem like they'd be what I've been searching for.  I'd like to listen, but noone around here has them.  Sooo, if I used some of these in the car are there any passive crossovers available or will I have to use a 4 channel amp?  I have some extra type-r components from last year lying around but don't know if that would be a good idea to use.  I'm new at this stuff.  Also, where can I get some?  I've been looking on the net for a while and can't find JACK.

eBay is not the place to find the Extremis.  You can purchase them through one of the Adire's distributors.  This page lists the current distributors and has links to their web sites.  You would be better off building your own crossovers than trying to use some pre-made job, or better yet ask one of the distributors to design one for you.

Finally, somewhere that has adire to order!  I should've checked canada.  duh.  I didn't know custom crossover designs were even an option from some of the retailers.  Thanks for the info and if you have anyone specifically you'd recommend I would appreciated it.  Think I'm gonna ditch the gear I got and go with a 12d4 brahma and an extremis component type setup!

Send Kyle at Acoustic Visions or Kevin at DIY cable an email and tell them what you want to do.  They can set you up with a set of Extremis and tweeters and proper crossovers.  Adire subwoofers are not yet available for retail, but should be soon.

A little off topic but, while I was browsing i saw this

and this,

https://www.adireaudio.com/Files/BrahmaOwnersGuide.pdf

is one new and one old?  they seem to be very different.

I contacted kyle at acoustic-visions and he told me that he doesn't do those types of things, but that for a fee adire would.  Is that true?  I was contemplating trying an active setup, but I wanted to see what I would be looking at pricewise to see if I need to save or have it now.

I contacted both places and they both said they can't do that.  I know nothing of xovers except what I read over the weekend and I'd like to have these in my car, but without the xover it's almost useless.  Does anyone know where else I could go to have some made?

Send an email to techsupport@adireaudio.com and see what they can do for you.  Hell, if all else fails I'll design one for you.

An easier solution: go with an active xo and a few bands of eq. Some head units have the necessary features.

The Extremis is an awesome driver. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the reply and the offer DYohn.  I thought about the active/eq thing but I don't want to get a different HU than I already have.  it's an alpine 9831, and I don' t know if it will do that.   Still learning all this stuff.  I'll email adire first and see what they have to say.
