i am running a jbl 1200.1 on 4 10 inch pioneer premier subwoofers that are 350 rms in a sealed box that is 1 cubic foot each chamber crossover is set at 80hz i am getting really boomy bass what i am looking for is the type of bass that is very loud and strong not boomy similar to the bass in a competition truck with speakers that are facing toward the windshield but my subs are in the trunk of my 87 regal do i have to lower the crossover frequency and turn up the gain to get this effect please help

I think its the box. 1 cu ft for a 10" sub is going to be boomy. What model subs do you have?

I agree that your boxes may be a bit too big - try filling them with some styrofoam blocks, take them to maybe .7 each - you'll have to play with it & see what sounds right.  But the biggest question is what is your source?  Are you using a factory head unit?
