I've got a 2002 Rodeo with a Pioneer AVIC-N1 and 2 AMPS. It has worked fine for years and now I have crazy ground noise. I have sanded the surfaces down and checked the battery terminal.  I tried to reground each amp separately by drilling into the vehicle metal with metal screws. Now the ground noise is unbarable. Would it be best to use a distribution block and hook all of the major grounds to that?  Also what would be the best place to ground the distribution block? Seat bolt or just drill directly into the frame?

Thanks

Seth

You might try refrencing your grounds.  All you have to do is take a multimeter test your battery voltage when the cars running.  Next put the red probe in your power wire and take the black probe and touch a piece of metal,  if the voltage matches then ground it there.

Try grounding the outer shield of the RCA's at the deck.  Pioneers are not great on quality control, and it sounds to me like these are not grounded anymore inside the deck.

Do not use a seat belt mount bolt to ground because there's usally a weld there (more resistance).  Make your own hole and scrape to bare metal.

check you battery,       Your fluid could be low in the battery and your not getting enough current or voltage.   We had a customer that we worked on his car for 2 days and then on a fluke thing replaced the battery and that was it
