I'm just wondering how much different is it if you're using a $200 MonsterCable (M1001 XLN 2C-3M) to a $20 one? Can your ears tell the different?

In my opinion it is up to the listener.  If you have that kind of money that you dont mind spending on that go for it.  The major diffrerence is the shielding in the cable.  I do a little trick with mine.  Buy some regular rca cables and buy them a little longer than you need to get to the amp.  Get out your cordless drill and tape one end of the cable on the chuck of the drill.  Have someone hold the other end.  Slowly pull the trigger and twist the cable until it is twisted all the way to the other end.  I then take tape and wrap the whole lenghth of the cable to keep it from un twisting.  In doing this you are sheilding the cable.  When wires are twisted the magnetic fields they produce when a signal is on them repel engine noise and noise in general.  Give it a try it might save you some money.  Brian

thank you for the tip. Sounds like a good idea. I have too long of the RCA wires and i dont know where to hide it. I will give it a try, after all my rca is cheap, not worry messing it up.

Try using the middle of the row RCA's. You don't want to jeopardize your system because you opted for spending $ 20.00 on a pair of RCA's instead of $ 40.00 for a better pair. Like brainh said...it's up to you, but I would not jeopardize my SQ if the difference in price for a decent set of RCA's and a cheap pair is less than $ 40.00 difference. Spend the extra to get better quality and then you won't have to worry about taking the timet o rip everything out and spend the $ 40.00 on the better RCA's and take out the $ 20.00 pair and re-install the new ones. After everything is said and done with.... you would have been better off with the little more expensive ones.
