Hey everybody, I recently bought a Pioneer DVD Head Unit.
Its the Model AVX-P7300DVD and the Brain AVM-P8000R. It was used and not in the best condition. I connected everything as it should be. I cannot get it to power up. when i push the reset button the LED blinks. so i figure its gettn power. Although it did not come with the security face plate (go figure)...just my luck. any way i locked the push-in tab on the face of the unit. now i heard that the face plate that i dont have uses infrared to determin if its there or not. Please HelpIm ready to through this thing across the room.
             thanks, Murph

Missing the security face plate? I would imagine that's your problem.

Contact Pioneer and order a new face plate.

I agree. They don't call it a security faceplate for nothin'.  How would it provide security if the HU worked without it?

because theres a switch behind where the face plate goes. Like a little pushin thing. when its not pushed in the security led flashes steadily and when its pushed in it doesnt flash at all. and i made it so it stays pushed in. I just want to figure if somehow it communicates with infrared or if what i heard was BS
