i was doing my research on getting a HO alternator and came across this ' Another area that little is paid attention to is the ground. You must also improve the ground as well. A poor ground will hinder the alternators ability to send power to the battery and can burn an alternator up just as fast as an inadequate alternator to battery wire. Your ground may be fine when you first install your alternator but over time corrosion and resistance builds up in the ground connections. This is why it is best to run the ground directly from the rear of the alternator to the battery."
i'm mainly questioning the last sentence. is this true and is this a good idea

Also how do you know if you have a internal or external mounted regulator?

You would be a moron not to upgrade the ground from the alternator to the battery and body when you get a HO alt, statement is very true. The power made by the alternator is only as good as the ground it is connected to.. As for internal vs external i can't help much as i haven't seen much in that department.

I'd just do the big 3 and not worry about grounding the alternator seperately.

Run a ground directly from the altenator to the battery, then run ground from the battery to the chassis. That is the way I see most recomended and the way I always do them.
