Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I am having problems with the wiring to the trunk reciever on my 96 sable. I had a 6 disc changer put in, I wired in a amp/sub. Had to take it out and now I can't seem to get the stereo to work properly. I can make it stay on all the time, but that's a drain. Does anyone have a suggestion on how the wires go?  The wires that are in question are BLACK/ pink and grey/pink.

those colors are kinda strange to be power wires.  Most power wires are red (Ignition), yellow (battery), and black (ground), coming off the headunit or changer.  It sounds to me like you have both the ignition and battery wire connected to eachother coming off the changer and they are attached the a constant hot power source on the car.  You probably should try to find a wiring digram on the changer to be positive what those funny colored wires are, then make sure they are hooked up to the correct power sources on the car.  Hope that helped!

The changer is not the problem, it's the wires that make the lights around the head unit work, radio work, and it seem the auto locks. Do you know by chance where I can find pictures on this?

I don't know where to find pics, but a good old Chiltons manual might help out.  Most of them at least have wiring digrams in them.  If I was you, I would try to tap into another switched power source (like the ignition), and posibly run your 12 volt constant right off the battery.  Sometimes when you are trying to tap into existing wires, it's just more trouble than it's worth.  Make your own wires!  That's pretty much a sure fire way to make sure everything is hooked up properly.  I have accidently tapped into climate control wires, brake light wires, headlights, dimmers, etc.  The customer's stereo would work great untill nightime, and when the turned on the heater, headlights, etc., the radio would shut off!  Live and learn, I guess....but try to just runyour own wires rather than tap into existing wires.  I bet that will solve your problem.  Have fun!

the odd thing is that it worked before, then just one day out of the blue, it didn't. Thanks for your help
