I was changing the wiring on my amplifier today to bridged, so I took a look at the manual to how to do a good bridged connectiong using this amplifier and to my suprise the manual was for a different amplifier... My amplifier however looks like this, with the "500.2" emblem on the side panels, and a big sticker on the underside of the unit stating 250x2 rms at 2 ohms.. (pics are 650 kb each, so couple secs till you can view it)

My problem is, when I went to the rockford fosgate website, I downloaded the manual for the 500.2 (incorrect manual below)

https://www.rockfordfosgate.com/library/manuals/500_2-man.pdf

and it referred to a XCard that is not on the amplifiier...  So this means, this amplifier is eather an older version or it's miss-labeled/fake.   I downloaded another manual off of the rockford fosgate website for a 500xp model, but that manual had 4 channels and mine only has 2 channels... ??   However, on that manual there was a 300s model that had the same looking channels/crossover panel and the same amount of 2 channels... So again, if it isint the 500xp model.. so really what model do I have??  I cannot find a manual for it, and I am starting to doubt I have the real thing.  I am also thinking there is a posibility this amplifier might have been miss-labeled as a 500s instead this amplifier really is a 300s?   How can I tell people.. I need some help here with what to do, it would suck if I purchased a miss-labeled product at a wrong price? Or even a fake product possibly?  The amp has always seemed kind of small to me by the way for what everybody charishes as a high quality product.

Well, the Xcard which is the cross over - or xover as I call them is INTERNAL.  So you would have to open up the amp to find out.

What is the dial to the left of the RCA jack?

the 500.2 really means that the amp puts out 500w = 250 x 2.  The name is kinda misleading.

how can that be possible about the XCard?  There is already a visible settting on the panel where you can adjust the crossovers, it is currently set at  LPF, there is also a HPF and Full setting on that same setting thingy to choose from.  You can see it in the the " ...._pics 005.jpg"  picture, it is just to the left of the Right Speaker Outputs, in the top right corner.

The knob to the left of the RCA jack is the "Left Gain"

to also add, I do not have a "pass thru"  RCA outputs like it is labeled in the 500.2 manual, and I also dont have this EZ thing.  Take a look at the picture of my panel, isint it different then the other real 500.2 models?

It's labeled as 500.2 because it puts out 500rms at 4 ohms.

contact fosgate with a serial number and have them run a check on it, should be able to tell you easily if its fake

I bought it from a store brand new, long time ago.  I dont get it?  this is really messed up.  Here is a picture of the same amp off of another website, labeled as 500.2, but the manuals off of rockford fosgate are labeling the panels/wiring all different for it?  I am really confused, because I dont know how to bridge it.. the 500.2 manual describes setting knobs certain ways, knobs that are not present on my amplifier.

OK, settle down here. First of rockford has made more than one version of amps called a 500.2. Second, if your amp is  a fake then its a really really impressive fake because from the pictures it looks perfect and if you bought it brand new from a retailer than its pretty much a lock that its not a fake. I have been dealing with RF for 5 years now and dont remeber any of their lines with x cards. The amp you have looks like a 2001 model, if I remember right. Either way I know its a model that came out after we picked up the line. The manual you downloaded is for the punch POWER 500.2 and yours is a Punch 500.2 different amps with different features. Right on the cover of that manual it said that the amp hade a chrome heatsink and your amp clearly does not. This is a case of "you found the wrong Manual" syndrome.

I did a little digging on RF's web site. Your amp is indeed a 2001 model. Here is the link for the owners manual

https://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=1VN54t_h&p_tbl=9&p_id=313&p_created=1083354353

Hopefully that answers all your questions

My god, literally, you are my god now lol..  wow, that has helped greatly to understand what's going on ;)  that's pretty confusing?  I was lookign at a punch power manual, instead of a punch manual?  It's almost misleading.  Thanks for your help mate.
