Hello,

I have a 1997 Chrysler Lxi with the Infinity system (factory amplifier in the trunk.) Anyway, I am replacing the head unit with a new alpine unit. The alpine unit has 2 blue leads (1 for power antenna which I don't have, and one for amp turn on.) I bought the chrysler aftermarket-TO-OEM wiring harness and it has 1 blue lead labeled Power Antenna (which of course I don't need.) Anyway, my question is, should I just hook the amp turn on lead from the alpine into the power antenna lead on the harness, or should I hook up power antenna from alpine to the power antenna on the harness? It is my understanding that the power antenna lead only shows 5V when the radio is being used, and I am afraid that my amp won't turn on unless the tuner is on. Just don't want to have to wire it twice! Thanks in advance!

hook the amp turn on lead to the factory antenna lead. if for some reason it is a 5v turn on and you do get speaker pop upon power up and power down then put a 1k ohm resistor in line and it will knock it down to 5 volts.

It's labelled power antenna because it's used for that on other chrysler vehicles- it's actually the factory amp turn on (12v) lead in your car.  Hook it to the blue/white (amp turn on) wire in the Alpine harness.  If you hook it up to the blue wire on the Alpine (power antenna), you won't have any sound when you switch to cd.
