I am needing any information on the bose sound system in the 2000 gmc jimmy bose sound system and its wiring. I want to take the head unit out and replace it and leave everything else, but I do not know what wires go where in the truck. I am needing the know where the wires go to from thr plugs in the amp and the stereo.

dont cut the harness. just buy an adapter and color code the wires. saves a huge headache.

You need to find a proper adaptor for your system. The BOSE system requires a low level signal from the radio into the amp. If you hook up the high level output/speaker output from an aftermarket deck, you will overload the BOSE amp. Bypassing the amp may not be possible either. Some BOSE speakers aren't the correct impedance for aftermarket decks. They can be anywhere from 1/2 ohm to 4 ohm. Hooking the wrong type to your new deck will damage it. See if anyone has a interface to step the signal level down to a level the BOSE amp can handle.

thank you for the help it answers a lot i have found an adaptor to go between the factory amp and the aftermarket stereo but it is like $80 dollars. So bypassing the amp may not work either. well any suggestions I figurer the speaker would not be that different and would not matter, the only thing is that the front door speakers are loike subs abd there is tweeters in the dash. Any info one what to do from here is helpful too thank you.....

buy the bose add-a-head. trust me running new wiring will take longer than working overtime and paying the 80$

damn, i am glad that my blazer doesnt have the bose, but glad it has every other option  ------------- 99 Blazer LT. Yellow Top. Big 3. Infinity Kappa Speakers All Around. Jensen CD/DVD flip out. 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12DVQs powered by a Alpine PDX600.1 (in one custom box, building a FG box)

If I change out the speakers in the dash and the doors and bypass the amp then will it work or will i have to remove all the wiring as well.

You will need to run new wiring as well.

Okay then I guess if i want to do what i really want to then i will have to get the adaptors to make it all work, because what i really want to do is put a dvd player in it and extre monitors in to also. so i guess the pac oem-1 or oem-2 is my best way to go tghen to change out the head unit.
