Can anyone help witha 97 Lesabre car stereo install? What parts do I need? How do I remove the panels ? Can I use existing wiring?
The stereo is a Pioneer DEH-P740MP
Thanks
Mark
It's not a hard car, but the whole face of the dash from left to right has to come off---just allow yourself plenty of time to do it carefully.
You'll need an installation kit to mount the radio, a wire harness adapter (so you don't cut up the factory wires) and an antenna adapter (because GM antenna plugs are different). The antenna adapter is a Metra 40-GM10, but I forget the numbers of the other parts.
Sometimes, the install kit will include instructions for the dash apart. If not, this company called Scosche has a big book with radio removal information---if you have a friend who works at a shop, you might get to look at it.

even though it says 94-97 does not mean it is only for a 94-97 Lesabre, it is the same exact, thing for a 93 Lesabre removal/install as well. I used that page for the H/U install in my 93 Lesabre and those instructions are a perfect match, the interior has very slight cosmetic changes is all.
I just wanted to throw that in there for anyone's future reference :)
and if you run into any problems, feel free to ask If may be able to help since I have basically the same car , it is a pretty straightforward job so I doubt you will have any problems.
Thanks to Chris and Sound Pressure. Looks like enough to get the job done!
Glad to be of some help.
