Subwoofers in a standard cab truck

I have a 1989 Toyota (standard cab) pickup truck & have very little space to install my 2 8" subwoofers. Im need ideas on how to either modify or customize my pickup in order to have hard hitting subs. Ive heard many people say they have done "blowthoughs" but im not sure how to do that.

Standard cab trucks are hard to make subs work well. Even harder is a "blow through" or "tunnel through". What this usually consists of is cutting out the back of the cab and bed of the truck to enable more space. I did this on my 86 Ford Ranger and installed 4 12" Sony Explode P5 subs in behind my seat. It rocked for Sony's! But, it consisted of taking the box off and cutting a hole in the cab, then reinstalling the bed to line up the holes to match. It took a couple of days and a couple of friends to help lift the bed. If you are not willing to go to that extreme, you might try a center console enclosure. This works and you don't have to compromise the structural integrity of your truck.

If you've got room, you could do something under the seat.

I installed a 12" Alpine Type R in a 1995 Toyota Tacoma std cab right behind the seat in a saled box. It works pretty well - the box is just very wide/tall and not very deep.
Check to see exactly how much room you have.

I find if you put a sub under the seat you don't get the boom you want! Not enough air space!
