I recently picked up a 94 Mustang Gt, not a bad little ride for a ford. Anyways. the idiot he bought it from took the radio, speakers and looks like every thing else with it.
What i am looking for is any type of diagram that would show the correct wiring from the original stock HU back to the origination of the stock wires.
Thanks in advance.
Did he hack up the factory wiring, or just unplug it? If it's all cut up, try this little trick: reach far back into the radio cavity......I think off to the right.......you're looking for two rectangular plugs, a gray and a black. Undo both of them, and pull the male ends out to where the radio is.......buy a standard old-style Ford adapter harness (Metra 70-1770 I believe) and it'll plug right in. Since only two wires go to each speaker, it shouldn't be too hard to get the speakers installed from there.
Thanks for the replies.
After i posted this I pulled the dash apart to find what looks like a mangled mess of "hopefully" the wire that originally ran to the radio. Since the Dash is apart i will have to look for the Rectangular plugs. This (metra 70-1770?)will replace the what should be existing radio wires or life line? and where to buy?
How would I know If this were the MACH460, and does it matter at this point?
The nice thing is that the majority of the uninstall is complete.
Thanks again.
The Mach 460's have 3 factory amps. If you're planning on adding amps, this comes into play. The easiest way is to check the trunk. If you see 2 amps at the top of the trunk (under the partition for the stock 6x8's) then he had a Mach 460. If there are no amps, then you should have a stock system. You would also notice Mach 460 badges on the tweeter covers on the front doors, and rear 6x8 grills.
