I'm in the process of selling a pioneer avic-z1 to a customer buying a 2007 chevy avalanche.  The dash looks like it can fit a double din system, but does anyone know of wiring conflicts that I may run into such as data links, on star etc?

At the moment, I don't beleive there is any interface availible that would allow the onstar to work while replacing the factory radio.

To my knowledge they don't even have a wire harness available yet.

All I'm looking for is " is there going to be major problems taking the OEM radio out and hard wiring in an avic-z1"   I already told him that he will be losing  his stering wheel controls, and the on star if it's equipped.  Is there anything like a data bus cable for a digital turn on signal to the factory amp that i'll have to bypass?

Unfortunately, you can't remove the factory radio without causing the vehicle serious problems and voiding certain warranty repairs. You would be better of to try and relocate the radio and trying to interface if that way. There are no kits for radio mounting or interfacing on GM's LAN/CAN bus system yet. If the truck has a factory video system, then you will also need to wire in a new DVD for it to work as the factory radio contains the DVD player.

if i relocate the factory radio, can the onstar function still be accessed?   not too worried about the dvd function since he is looking at an alpine overhead dvd system.
