Allright so I just picked up another smaller amp to power a pair of 6x9s. I already have wiring ran through the car for the larger amp, although its all 1 gauge. I`m wondering what is the best way to hook up the new amp. Would I be able to run wire off of the original power cord, and split the remote wire. Or would I need to run an all new power wire? Also since I have the amp rca cables going to the nonfader of an eclipse deck would I need to run another set of rca cables? Thanks ------------- 95 Mercury Cougar

Yes you can split the 1AWG wire, you could use a distrobution block or the like, splitting the remote wire or tapping into it shudnt be a problem, but the more equipment you try and run off the remote wire you will eventaully need a relay, if the amp has rca outputs you can run the rca cable form the HU into that amp, then use the output rca jacks to run a small patch cable to the other amp, post any other questions you have

If I split the power wire is it safe and best ideato use a smaller wire say 8gauge for a 200w amp? With the RCA cables are you saying I can just hook the two amps together using the extra rca output on the large amp? And does it matter that I have the larger one hooked up the non fader? ------------- 95 Mercury Cougar

8awg would be fine to power a 200W amp. Remba whenver the wire size changes you will need a fuse on the smaller gauge wire or the distrobution block. Prity much all the eclipse HU have that non fader rca preout, ive neva deal with these units so i cant tell you for sure, does any1 know if you can hook the amps up with a patch cable when they are attached to a non fader preout??

The non fader is used for the sub so if you adjust the soundstage on the speakers left-right front-back it doesn't screw with the sub.

Hummm thats what i thought, id run a seprate set of RCA's then cuz the eclipse HU should have 3 rca outupts (front/rear/non-fader) and just run them from the rear im assuming cuz ur using 6x9 speakers
