Saw the preview for mythbusters tonight at 9pm. I saw some RE audio subs, and one gigantic sub that looked like it was literally shaking a car to pieces.
From Mythbusters website: "On this episode the guys ask, can a car stereo destroy a car with just sound? Adam and Jamie pump up the bass to find out."

"weve got 3 melodies.... its called first gear second gear and third gear."
Too bad they were only able to test first gear. I am quite impressed with their numbers though. 161DBs at 16Hz. Thats pretty crazy. The high speed footage of the woofer though was hilarious. That woofer was way off balance. lol. I did like the idea of a diesel powered woofer though. Quite creative.
Yeah that was pretty insane. 161dB at 16Hz is just unbeleivable. I just wish they had an SPL expert helping with the build. I would like to see what a 4 foot subwoofer ran off a driveshaft can actually produce in a suitable environment and built with proper materials. I knew from the get-go that thier surround wasnt gonna hold up......I wouldnt be surprised if some audio shop with some extra cash actually builds a replica of this and attempts to perfect it...

Blowing up in a car accident doesnt worry me, as long as I'm putting out some major dB's when I die...
I missed it!!, I set my dvr to record it at 1am, sounds cool as hell, hopefully I can keep myself up long enough to watch it
