why in the world wouldnt you run fuses while competing? doesnt do you much good if your car starts on fire.

unless your running gobs of power and dont care about the well being of your cars safety then hell go without a fuse but belive me when things go wrong they go WRONG no using fuses

First off what do you mean by the fact your amp was "midified"
second pulling fuses out is only worth .2-.3 db in a very vry high current setup 200+ amps of actual draw

You meantioned nothing about the tuning frequency your box is at....I know you gave box size and port length but Im being lazy.   I would reccomend tuning yor box to 42-47hz and try running a sweeep (track 19 on all sanctioned cd's) and see where your loudest score was (what frequency) and use that

charging system is everything! You cannot make power without providing the amps with power.   I would highly look into upgrading the big 3 if you havnt yet, and get that high output alt that you need!

Ok i Get it   I must use a fuse!   what amp size fuse.

jeffchilcott  its about 45hz,  /  changing out to a bigger internal fuse is what i call  modified  / so its not true that you can make it with a stock alt.  and a powerful battery  /

other things that were suggested to me was :

Use the front or rear signal outputs of the Headunit  to  your amp because the signal is cleaner

Open up your amp to 200hz , so the amp will play with more power, less resistance and catch the best frequency.

I normally open my amps to 200hz   but havent done alot of testing otherwise....made a few whoops moments and had it set at 50 hz on accident and it brought our scores down a few tenths

The output of the head unit shouldnt make any diffrence

You can use the stock alt to drive to the show.. Like I do..But I have 4 batteries in one car, and 6 in the other...we use very large high amp chargers o get our batteries to a full charge before going into the lane..

Find a good "Mic Monkey"   somone who can hold the mic on the passenger side floorboard and get themselves scrunched up aginst the dash to build a "pocket" where the mic is on the floorboard.   Leave your drivers door all the way open during the run

Jeffchilcott----When I said the front and the rear  of the HU ,  I meant versus the Signal of the sub output.

Do you think I will need another kinetik battery? and what size?

Where can I test my SPLs before comp?

The diffrence between outputs will be none.....some decks have a stonger output on the sub output (voltage) so I would stick to the sub output on your deck

I am not entirely happy with kinetiks customer support right now so I have started using a new product

They are called audioforce batteries...you can find them at batteriesareus.com   Just as strong as any kinetik or powermaster battery but a better price and better customer support!

To test you setup before a show I would call some local shops that have held shows and ask if they have a term-lab or metering setup, most will gladly help you out or rent it to you at the shop for $20 a hour

Where are you located?   I could probably rfer you to some shops or competitors in your area

I must first say thank you for your assistance.

These batteries you stated , you would really put them up against kenitik  batteries!   /  I really want to try and beat this guy , he too c**ky.

I Live in deerfield beach FL, 33067

One more thing Dynamat, where should i lay it down , or do i need it at all  ,because the trunk of the 02'  camry is kind of funny, when i drop the back seats, there is an oval shape that leads into the trunk.

The Batteries are actually made by the same manfacturer as that makes kinetik and odyesee batteries.    The prices and customer service beat kinetik hands down

I havent really played alot with sound deadning...I know we did the whole trunk in meghans car, and I really didnt notice any substantial gain or loss

Can you say "Smackdown?"

Some people should read what they're posting to or against before sticking their foot in their e-mouth!

It all reminds me of something that Moličre once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I am not a big ISACA fan...I have always been a USACi competitor and have been involved with a few DB Drag shows, but havent ran at any myslef.   The biggest thing I can say is find the fourm for which ever orgnazation you decide to compete in and look around.

USACi-Soundoff.org...left hand colum says fourm

DbDrag.com same left hand side says audio fourm

I will say best of luck, and hang on!   This thing we call competition is very very addictive
