I am attempting to install a nice JVC stereo unit I just bought for my Mustang and am having problems with trying to use the existing car wiring/speakers. I purchased a wiring harness adaptor which seemed to be the correct one, but I am not getting any sound?

I have noticed that the 8-pin speaker connector in the original Ford radio has a metal contact on the one side which makes contact with the factory wiring harness cable. This may be my problem since my aftermarket cable does not address this connector.

If anyone could shed some light on this problem and offer any solution, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks

Mike

is it two flat plugs or is one a squared plug?  if one is a squared plug reach into the dash to the right side and you will find two flat plugs--one gray one black, unplug those from the female plugs they are in, plug the males into the correct female plug {metra part number 70-1770}

If you say "I already know how", don't ask me a single question.
