I bought the eclipse cd3434 from a girl(it was her doy friends who has died) that rents the basement, The security feature on the hu will not allow me to use it.Me and her looked for the paper work in the basement but could not find it, This was a working hu because the boy friend showed it to me when he installed it in his mustang(he was telling me how eclipse makes the best hu's!!) plus I took the hu out of the mustang but I could not ture it on, the hu said "sec help" and then some numbers. (I bought the cd5444, used from a friend but it does not have this security feature on it.(how do I add this feature on the cd5444??)
If anyone knows how to bypass the security feature on the cd3434 the help would be great THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

like the other guy said.. contact eclipse and tell them your situation. all eclipses have the ESN security feature which is what i assume you are talking about. The only other way to unlock the 3434 would be to find the CD he used as his "key CD" which basically means if the cd player is removed it will not work until the key cd is put in again then it will work like normal

I tried to look for the key cd but could not find it, plus his girl friend dose not know what cd it is, I guess I will have to take all her boy friends cd's and try each one out!!!!LOL (another question how do I put this esn security feature on my cd5444?)

Contact me as I am a CDN authorized dealer for Eclipse. We Canadians cannot just contact Eclipse and expect the same results that you Americans do. CDN customers must go through a CDN dealer and then through the CDN distirbutor. Your CD5444 does indeed have the exact same security functions as the CD3434 and for that matter all other Eclipse cd players made (save for the current CD1000) in the last 12 years.
By PM or e-mail (forbidden@telus.net), send me the serial # of the CD3434, this is the first thing that I need. Then we can see about unlocking it.
Your CD5444 should have a function button on it. Turn the keys on to give the unit power. Turn the pwr button on the radio to off. Press and hold the function button and then press and hold button #6, this will initiate the security sequence and prompt you to insert your "key" cd. Once it has read the table of contents of the disc and burned it into memory, it will say "done" and eject the disc. Make this "key" cd a store bought cd and a disc that you will not listen to nor keep in the vehicle.

Sorry I have not responded I have been very busy!!!! I've been building a sub box for my truck(it's a reg cab, tight fit!!!)
I was very lucky in terms of the cd3434, the girl found a cd buried in the closet and guess what it was a spies girls cd LOL, just good for on thing to unlock the cd3434(spies girls cd=key cd
)
I still have not enabled the ESN security on my cd5444 but I got to do it, I might need help with that so if I do I will ask for it, thanks.
