Ok, heres the story....I had an alpine head unit that anytime that i turned it up I would lose sound, the deck would keep working fine but the speakers would put out no sound.  I recently purchased a used avic-n1 thinking that the no sound problem was internal in the alpine deck....again it played fine, I turned it up and it dumped the sound.  Were im at so far is that I have 9v tested my speaker leads and they seem to be working fine and I have tested the pioneer deck outside of the vehicle and it puts out noise and does not stop.  Please help before I have to re-wire the entire suv.......

Are you using an external amplifier?  Are your speakers OK?

If both decks did the same thing it is most likely a shorting speaker/speaker wire.

Unplug the harness from the deck and meter each speaker. Anything substancially below 4 ohms is suspect. Then meter each speaker wire to ground reference. If anything reads other then infinity you have a short in that speaker wire run, the terminals, or the speaker itself. Disconnect the speaker in question and it should play fine.

Replace/repair shorted wire or repair/replace speaker as needed.
