I have a customer that wants the best sound (considering the equipment) he can get from his iPod. It is in a 67 Nova with an autosound cassette player and external amp. cutting the dash is out of the question and he doesn't really want to replace the head unit. He has been using a cassette adapter, but is wanting better sound. Would an adapter with RCA's (used to hook into a home stereo system) work Y'd into the amp inputs using the iPod to control it, or would this cause a problem? If that won't work, does anybody have any other idea's?

Don't use y-adapters or you'll fry one source unit while the other is playing. Your best option is to use an a/v source switcher made for 12 volt applications. Other than that, you're probably limited to an fm modulator with that deck.

Ok, thanks man. I guess it's either live with the sound or get a new h/u and stash it in the glove box or under the seat.
