After deciding to go with Pioneer DEH77 head unit for direct XM reception, there were a few disables. OnStar, amp, subwoofer, rear seat radio controls, cassette deck.

How do I get the amp and sub back ? These were bypassed at installation. The other I'm not worried about. I know I can get OnStar back. Don't want it.

Thanks

Jim

It kinda depends on how they were bypassed.  Did you do the install yourself?  If a plug and play oem interface type of thing  was used then you should be able to just unplug and remove that, then plug stuff back in.  If it was hardwired when it was installed, it's gonna be a lot more tricky to get all the factory functionality.

After the pioneer was installed, did you lose your door chimes?

Thanks for the reply.

Circuit City did the install. Did some bypassing under the glove box. Bypassed the amp and went into the speaker wires. Otherwise I had no sound when harness was plugged up.

Still have door chimes.

wow.....that sounds like a lot of sacrifices for the 77dh HU to me...

circuit city has never been a top installer service in my area when it came to having to bypass components. i think for that job i wouldve went to a local well know stereo shop to have it done.

are you planning on sticking with the pioneer or putting it all back together stock? and if you lost the sub and amp and other controls why did you ever leave the install bay with it not being right?
