allright i have a question im looking into getting an amp for my subs
i have an idea of a sub i want but someone told me if i want a mono amp im gonna have to find one with double the rms to match the subs is this true?
heres what i have

2 blaupunkt vw1200 subs
which are dvc 2 ohm subs
and can handle either 600watts(at 4 ohms) or 1200 watts (at 2 ohms)

i was thinking about getting a Crunch PZi 1000.1 which is
4 ohms: 250 watts rms x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 500 watts rms x 1 chan
1 ohms: 1000 watts rms x 1 chan.

so the question is would this amp be close to enough
if i wired the subs to 2 ohms like your website diagrams
or would i need to find an amp that is 1000 watts rms to
push each sub at 500 watts?

Loudspeaker power ratings do not change depending on how you wire them.  The Blaupunkt Velocity 1200 subwoofer is rated at 600 watts RMS.  It is a DVC 2-ohm speaker which means you can wire each one for either 1-ohm or 4-ohms.  Two of them would create either 2-ohms or 8-ohms.  This means you can use any decent mono amplifier you like that can produce up to 1200 watts into 2-ohms.  I cannot recommend you use anything from Crunch.  What's your amplifier budget?

Normally I can't recommend shopping on-line, but Car Domain is having an inventory clearance sale and has some good deals on subwoofer amplifiers.  Check it out.  For $300 you can get a decent amp from Kenwood or Infinity.  As far as I'm concerned, avoid brands like Crunch, Boss, Dual, Puramid, Pyle, Visonik, Power Akoustic, etc. if you care about sound quality or if you want your amp to last longer than 6 months.

One problem with crunch amps that I have run into 15 or 30 times is the amp staying on all the time, even if there is nothing connected to the turn on lead.
