What is LPF and HPF???

what is LPF and HPF and what do they do? whats the point of them, i have a preset on my deck that has the option of turning these on. and what level to i put them at?

LPF = Low Pass Filter : this is your low frequency crossover.

HPF = High Pass Filter : This is your high frequency crossover

This level is set to your ears & depends on what you have hooked up to them.

Depending if you have amps with built in crossovers, you wont want to use the LPF/HPF options on your head unit, as they are most likely inferior to the technology in the amp. Never had to use them.

If you do use them:
If you have a sub, you set the low pass filter to around 100hz or less. Your sub will only receive the desired "bass" signals from your head unit.
For your highs, set the hi pass filter for about 125hz and higher. The speakers will not have to endure the distortion causing bass waves.

Make sure you match the outputs of the headunit to each respective amplifier.
