Hi folks,

I just picked up an Alpine SBS-254F 10" sub with on board 5ch amp. No idea how old this thing is. All inputs are on a Molex so I dont know if they are high or low level inputs! There are NO RCA inputs at all.

I want to try it out, but Alpines site doesn't acknowledge it under a search. Anyone remember this or still have a wiring diagram somewhere? Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. I know there are lots of pros on here (been lurking awhile:) )  Help!

Thanks, Chris

I just searched Alpines parts distributer. There are no longer any parts for it.I sort of remember it (I've been an Alpine dealer for 25 years) any chance you can post a picture of it?

Thanks,

I called Alpine tech support and they told me that model has ONLY high level inputs. I have NEVER seen an amp without low level inputs, but I'll try it. I'll start with the volume at 0 and be careful ramping it up.

I had an old Alpine amp probably 15 yrs ago that used a molex plug. I had to buy an Alpine RCA adapter to use it. I was thinking this may be the same.

The plate where the molex goes is labeled front rear right left + -.

There is a gain pot that goes from 0.2v - 4v, another pot for rear level, and a crossover switch for 80 or 120Hz.

The amp portion is 25w x 4 and 80 x 1 to the sub. Its a really small box with one 10" sub in it.
