Yeah, I know. It's been awhile since I've been here. I do lurk every once in a while, though.

Anyways, I have upgraded my sub stage! I went from a 10" Boston G5 and a Crunch P1500.1 to a 10" Eclipse Ti and a JBL GTO14001.

The Crunch put out max power at 1ohm, so it did just fine on the D4 Boston (rated for 450w). Once I got the Ti, I knew the "425w" the Crunch claimed at 2ohms would just not cut it, so I started looking around.

By this time I had built a new box for the Ti -2.6cubes at 27.9Hz with 36 square inches of port area. I had the Crunch powering it and I planned on waiting for the right deal on a more powerful amp.

A couple days after installing the Ti and being disappointed because I just knew I wouldn't find a quality amp for cheap, my buddy tells me about a GTO14001 on eBay for $200. I jumped on it and am glad I did. It does max power at 2ohms -perfect!

After receiving the JBL, and having to solder female RCA jacks to the board because the original ones were ripped off :(, I got it installed.

I was immediately happy with the output, but while adjusting the gain I quickly realized the amp has no SSF. Minutes later I got some Harrison Labs 20Hz high-pass FMods ordered.
As soon as they come in, the gain will be going up!

Yes, that is black duct tape. It looks pretty good in person actually.

This is my first time mounting an amp any way other than flat LoL

Thanks again, Haemphyst!

Why not drill a hole in the back of the box for your wires to the sub? Looks bad coming out the port (after you get over the duct tape job anyway) Also some zip ties would clean your amp wires up pretty nice as well. Maybe it doesn't bother you, I am just anal about my wires being neat and clean :)

It is pretty loud (I think I'll do a 140, if not really close), but doesn't quite go low enough. I will be building a new box soon. It will go from 2.6cubes @ 28Hz to 3.6cubes @ 22Hz like WinISD says. I should've done that from the start LoL

When I put the new box in, I'll have to move the amp to the side of the box because of increased depth, so I still haven't cleaned the wires up.

*By the way, the JBL does have a SSF LoL The FMods weren't even used.
