I am having a few issues with the door locks. If I understand correctly, the two purple wires should be connected to ground, the GREEN/ blue connected to lock/unlock, and the BROWN / black and WHITE/ black should be capped.

Because I was rushing last night, i connected the purple wires to 12V constant. When I tried the remote, the door locks did nothing, which in hindsight makes sense. Once I realized what I did, I moved the purple wires to ground, but it still did not work. I am assuming that I fried the module.

I tested a few of the leads to see what was up, here's what I found.

There is always continuity between the purple wires and the blue of green lock/unlock wires. I am thinking that there should only be continuity when the remote is pressed to lock or unlock the door. If I understand correctly, the lock/unlock wires (GREEN/ blue) will pass on what ever the purple wires are connected to (ground/12V) when the remote is pressed.

I know I have the right wires on  the car to trigger the locks, because if I jumper them to ground, I can get the car to lock and unlock.

So, I guess my questions are as follows:

-Do I have the wiring correct?

-Is the module most likely fried?

As long as I'm asking questions, is there anyway that I can use the horn output to drive something that would just beep when I lock and unlock. Similar to whats on my G35 or Forester? I hate how loud lock and unlock chirps/horns are. If so, what is this divice called? Would I need to drive it with a relay?

Sorry for the long post, I appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks.

Are the 2 purple wires fused?   as they should be! If so... check them.

You are correct on your assumtion on the continuity issue. The internal relays could be fried, or stuck.   The connections are  NO, NC, and common, correct? 87, 87a,  and 30

Use a DMM for testing.... "jumping" anything be it to ground, or 12v, is not a good idea.

The two purple wires are fused. You are also correct about the connection.

I know I shouldn't be jumping. posted_image

I guess I'll get a new module.

Thanks.

Well, I got it all working, turned out the fuse was blown. (That was easy).

After trying it out a few times now, it has stopped unlocking when you press the button on the remote. When you press the unlock button, the parking lights flash and the dome light comes on, but it doesn't unlock.

On the other hand, it is set to lock the car when you start it, and unlock it when you turn it off and that is working fine. It is unlocking when you turn the car off just like it should.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Okay, I found out the unlock doesn't work if you try it right after you lock it with the remote. If you wait around 15 seconds between commands it functions normally. I also found out that when the remote doesn't unlock the car, the interior power lock switches also do not work. The only way that seems to clear it, is to use the key in the door or start the car.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
