Afternoon,
I want to install an auto close to the sunroof in my 05 Durango (I keep leaving it open and I am tired of wiping snow and rain up..) so every time the vehicle is locked it closes the sunroof.
I am hopng the community can assist in two questions:
1. I have the wires at the switch, however the unit (CS-5501 Model 72) states to "prefferably" go to the motor wires, NOT the switch. Is this do to the resistance to shut the CS-5501 down when closed? I know the factory switch kills upon closing so If I use the (-) wire at the switch will the CS-5501 just keep on' going and kill the battery? Is the switch low volatage causing the need to go to the motor wires?
2. If I have to use the motor wires, does anyone know what and or where they may be other than at the motor itself? Since the Durango has the factory DVD system I prefer to not have to pull everything down to get to the motor, I am hoping the wires are accessable else where and I can test them there. Headliners can be a pain to get back up...
Let me know your thoughts - Thanks in advance.
is it a factory roof or an aftermarket roof? In most cases the motor wires jump directley to the brain an the brain is most likely next to the motor
