I am looking for advise on a problum with an remote starter on a 2002 F150 rear w. dr, auto.I installed a AutoCommand Model 20023 (It was removed from an older vehicle) It is working OK with The key in the Ign. (off position) I purchased a 555F Module and installed it as per directions but I cannot get it to learn the code. I connected The 555F blue - input wire to the WHITE/ black wire on the 20023, I did test this wire to confirm it as a ground when running and It has constant +12v on the red wire.I followed instruction's for learning the code (98 and newer Ford vehicle's) I tried it quite a few times with no success.I have installed lots of remote starters but this is the first time I have used a bypass where I would not have to lose a key. Can anybody advise me what I need to do to program it ------------- cyri L. Churchill

you don't install the 555f pellet until it's programmed.
key one on until theft light goes off
key two on until theft light goes off
hold pellet 1/2" in front of key cylinder and remote start vehicle.

I think that truck needs the 555S not the F, but I may be incorrect. If your key has the Blue ford logo on it it'll need the "S" if it is all black it'll need the "F".

It has the black key, I am going to try to program again this afternoon, if I can't program it then I will consider removeing the 555f and install a "lose a key" unit. I don't like admiting defeate but this is driving me nuts. ------------- cyri L. Churchill

there should be a small guage black wire comming off of the transponder ring by itself. use a wire tie to attach the capsule to this wire. (wire is on the bottom side of the ignition) Program the unit by turning the ignition on with the first valid ignition and waiting for the theft light to turn off. Within 5 sec., place the 2nd key into the ignition and turn it to the on position. When the theft light goes out, revove the key and use the remote start to start the vehicle. you should be able to feel the 555f click on when the rem. start turns on. If you dont feel it click, you dont have it connected properly. (Red- 12v constant, Blue- status output of rem. start, ground out when running, or Negative ignition output of rem. start) It sounds like you already connected it right, but I've seen rem. starts with bad or weak ground out when running outputs.

timing can be the difference in it programming you have a 5 second window between every step
