Hi all,

I've learned a lot from these forums already and appreciate everyones input. I've done a couple alarm/remote start installs now and I'm gaining more confidence with each install.

I plan to install an Ultra start 2270 in a 98 honda prelude and just wanted some feedback before attempting it.

The wiring diagram doesn't seem to have anything out of the ordinary, but I just want to be sure. One question that I would appreciate help on, is the tach signal location. Should I tap it from the passenger strut tower or somewhere else?

As long as the spare key is all metal, I don't have to worry about any immobilizers right?

As far as the tach wire goes I belive it is blue in the instrument cluster be sure to set your dmm to ac and test all wires before taping into anything. good luck :)

the tach is very easy to find. its a blue wire, towars the right side of the strut. The end is a 2pin connectore with a black rubber root covering the wire connector. THis is the honda tach TEST connector, so dont snip it off. this works just as well as going to the coil. just take one min of your time and SOLDER this connection.
