I noticed some post about the XK04 on the newer Fords. I wanted to us the PKU-F2 but Bypasskits is out of stock. Has anyone used the Xk04 successfully? Or what else are you guys using? Thanks in advance...

I had a few too many problems with the bypasskit stuff lately and switched to idatalink. I find them easier to use and they work the way they should.

You have a number of choices for your application:

The parking light wire for the 08 Edge shows a violet/white positive at juction box above kick panel or gray negitive in the same place. Another source says to use a relay like on the windstars. Anyone use the positive wire at the junction box?

If you are just adding a remote start, and want the parklights to kick on (not flash) during remote start. The violet/white(+) above drivers kick will work fine.

Just worked on one the other day, and the positive parking lights worked fine.

Above the driver's left foot is the fuse box.

If you were looking at the face of that fuse box, the plug that has the parking lights is toward the headliner, and toward the hood, if that makes sense........up and toward the front of the car........if you were looking straight at it, it would be on your top right.

I've also heard about problems with the XK04, requiring a relay to correct it.

Regardless, a universal bypass box, and a blank (or even used) Ford key, is a less expensive way to do it.
